Kirsten Hargreaves
Kirsten Hargreaves is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and an Assistant Professor in the Child Youth and Family Studies Department at the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Kirsten is playful by nature and specializes in child and youth mental health with children ages 3-12 focusing in canine, nature based and play included counselling as well as animal included supervision and consultation. Kirsten has partnered with her two golden retrievers Kona and Nalu for the past ten years as a canine assisted intervention specialist across therapeutic, community and education domains. Kirsten is an internationally recognized speaker in her canine work with children having presented in Portugal, Ireland and across Canada. In 2025, Kirsten's company Standing Tall Child and Family Counselling is celebrating its tenth anniversary with expansion into new workshops, groups and offerings.
